Description

Ramesh Rao, a self-taught artist from Udipi, paints rural folk in a representational style. Catching them unawares, often in a state of repose, his figures of simple folk like farmers and rickshaw pullers doing their daily routine come alive on his canvas. The people he portrays have a honesty and peacefulness about them. Their pain and problems are never to be seen on their faces but imagined through the meticulous but truthful setting that Ramesh Rao paints them in. This artwork done in 1996 will be shipped rolled with Crimson’s certificate of authenticity.
