Description

Limited Edition Serigraph printed in 37 colors on archival paper. This serigraph was published in an edition size of 125. The paper size is 36 x 40 inch. Amit Ambalal recalls his childhood days being spent in the large home of his joint family, where three generations and aunts and uncles lived. Cows, crows, street dogs and a multitude of images that were part of the life around him entered his fertile imagination. Ambalal’s approach to art and creativity allowed him to weave his own stories on canvas, which speak of the eternal truth. The subjects in Amit Ambalal paintings displayed the foibles and the quirks of man. The ever-present crows crowd his serigraphs and mimic human behavior. He uses satire to portray the hypocrisy of the protagonists. Ambalal paints in a manner that shows that he has tried to de-skill himself. Sort of like Picasso who strived to paint like a child. He paints it like he sees it, drawing and painting without inhibitions. His sophistication in use of colour too emanates from his uncontrolled use of it. He captures the viewers’ interest with the simplicity. This artwork will be shipped rolled with Crimson’s certificate of authenticity.
