Badri Narayan is a self-taught artist, author, illustrator and story-teller. His paintings are primarily narrative starting points from where one can unravel the complexity within the work. He borrows from Indian mythology and uses Indian miniature painting traditions to recreate the stories in his paintings. For his narrative painting ‘A lamp for Chchadanta’ , Badri Narayan uses the story of The Chchadanta elephant who gives up his six tusks for the higher purpose of saving a life.
